FE-SEM image of adaxial subepidermal cells and chloroplast in 4 DAS leaf primordia of an3 mutant-Arabidopsis thaliana_sample1
Description
The adaxial subepidermal cells in 4 DAS leaf primordia cross-sections of an3 mutant-Arabidopsis thaliana sample1 were observed using a field emission-scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). Compared to WT, larger vacuoles and extended intercellular space were exhibited in mutant an3. The chloroplast with more thylakoid membranes in the mutant an3 were observed using a field emission-scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), compared to that of WT. The image of chloroplast was magnified from the image of adaxial subepidermal cells. The ANGUSTIFOLIA (AN3) gene is a positive regulator of cell proliferation and an3-4 allele was isolated by Horiguchi et al. (2005). Other mutant an3 alleles were provided by multiple research groups and introgressed into Col-0.
