These image files show active DG cells automatically identified by PCA-ICA* cell detection available in inscopix data processing software(IDPS). The grayscale image is the picture of cells that showed activity at least once in the session, which was created by the maximum projection of DF/F images through the entire open field session (also available in IDPS). Within these cells, PCA-ICA algorithm automatically detected the cells that have clear calcium signals, and these cells were applied for decoding and information content analysis of the open field data done in the present manuscript (Murano et al., 2020). Such neurons are indicated with green contours in these images. Within the PCA-ICA process, number of ICs (estimated number of cells in the field of view) was set to 120, which is confirmed to work well across the cortex, hippocampus, and dorsal striatum (confirmed by inscopix). * PCA-ICA: Principal Component Analysis-Independent Component Analysis Created by Ryuichi Nakajima Ph.D., Fujita Health University
